Vectorama – Most important information

What is Vectorama?

Vectorama is a gaming festival and a LAN-party that is organised annually on the first weekend of June in Oulu, Northern Finland.

Vectorama is three days of fun, gaming and enjoying time together with hundreds of other hobbyists.

As a LAN party, we emphasise popular PC and console games, which are played alone or as teams in the partynet, in our programme.

There are also low-threshold tournaments in many games, in which players participate mostly on their own computers. There’s a lot more to do during the long weekend, too, for there’s plenty being planned from music programme to Mölkky and retro games to a Minecraft building competition.

GUIDE

Tickets

The majority of tickets are sold beforehand. We highly recommend getting computer place tickets in advance, since later they might not be available in the spot you want. You can find more instructions and information on different ticket types on the Tickets page (In Finnish).

Tickets which don’t include a computer place are sold at the venue entrance for the entire duration of the event. Computer place tickets are also sold, should there be any left.

The event opens its doors first for those that have purchased a Premium computer place, after which those that have purchased a pro or normal computer ticket. Pärinäareena

Vectorama’s Pärinäareena (aka our expo area) offers a wide variety of different gaming-related activities, contests, streams and even games presented by our partners, in addition to other fun stuff.

You can visit Vectorama for free on Friday and Saturday during 15-21 (3pm to 9pm). More on the Visit Vectorama for free-page (in Finnish).

Tournaments

Multiple low-threshold tournaments are organized each year in popular video games. You can find the list of all tournaments on the Tournaments-page (in Finnish).

Live Stage

Each year we organise different activities on the Live stage (aka ”Main stage”), including music numbers, panel discussions, speedrun-showcases, fun contests, and other activities.

There are bright lights and loud noises in the close proximity of our Live stage. Some parts of the programme may use flashing lights.

How Vectorama is organised

Vectorama is meant for people of all ages that enjoy gaming. Vectorama provides the biggest LAN-party in all of Northern Finland, attracting hundreds of people every year to join in the fun with computer space tickets and visitors wanting to experience the event. Previous Vectoramas have seen all computer space tickets being sold out in only a couple of days.

The event is fully organized by over two hundred volunteers! Our volunteers handle everything from buildup and security, communications, programme and program production, the internet at the event, the Info desk, gaming activities, all the way to the cleanup and takedown.

Computer place ticket holders bring their own computers and Vectorama provides fast internet, electricity, tables and chairs, and many different types of activities to choose from. The event features many different organizations and associations, which will be there to showcase their activities and offer related activities for players and visitors.

The idea of the event is to gather together in one place to play video games, code, surf the web and to meet internet friends face-to-face. This event dispels the old stereotypes of computer enthusiasts being unsocial, as hundreds of people gather around a shared hobby for days to spend time together.

Welcome to Vectorama!
